Ramsay defiant after 5-0 humiliation

da fazobetai: Ramsay suffered a 5-0 thrashing against Norwich in the Sky Bet Championship at The Hawthorns on Tuesday, intensifying calls for the manager to be sacked.

It was a second straight home defeat after Friday’s 3-2 to Middlesbrough as Albion’s fourth consecutive loss left them three points above the drop zone.

Oscar Schwartau put Philippe Clement’s side ahead in the 16th minute which was followed by goals from Ali Ahmed (49), Anis Ben Slimane (69), Ben Chrisene (73) and Mathias Kvistgaarden (90).

It was Albion’s heaviest second-tier defeat since losing 6-0 at Sheffield United in February 2000. They have lost eight of their last 10 but Ramsay refused to get involved in talk of a relegation battle.

The board have done little to improve the manager’s chances this month either, with the Baggies yet to make any moves in the January transfer window, but they could soon free up a space for a new midfielder to arrive, having already lost Toby Collyer, who returned to Manchester United.

Deeming leaves on loan

19 year-old midfielder Cole Deeming has agreed terms to leave the Hawthorns on loan and will join Cheltenham for the rest of the season.

West Brom have given the youngster the green light, and he will look to improve on what was a succesful loan spell at Truro, having spent the first half of the season with the National League side.

This, combined with the loss of Collyer, will surely prompt the club to dip into the transfer market to sign a new central midfielder.
