da marjack bet: Manchester City have now held shock talks to sign a “world-class” Real Madrid star, and his stance on a Santiago Bernabeu exit has been revealed.
Man City eyeing another statement signing after Guehi and Semenyo
da poker: It has been a successful month for Man City in the transfer market, securing the signings of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, with the latter putting in a solid display on his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers, making five defensive actions and completing 93 accurate passes.
Pep Guardiola spoke fondly of his new addition after the match, saying: “The captain of Crystal Palace has to be something special. Really pleased for him. He is so demanding for ourselves to do better. Good players adapt quick and understand the game, so that’s why.”
Semenyo has also made a flying start to life at the Etihad Stadium, scoring the second goal in the routine 2-0 victory against Wolves, to help keep the pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Despite already making two statement signings recently, Hugo Viana is eyeing another high-profile addition to the squad, with a report from TEAMtalk revealing Man City have now opened shock talks over a move for Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
City’s interest appears to be at an early stage, having only made contact with intermediaries thus far, but they are carefully assessing the situation, even though a deal would be on the expensive side.
With the right-back failing to kick on at Madrid since arriving from Liverpool during the summer, there is frustration behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he is still keen to stay at the Spanish club and fight for his place.
"World-class" Trent could be statement signing for City
It would perhaps be surprising if the defender makes a move to the Etihad Stadium, given his Liverpool links, but he could be another statement signing for City, considering his previous exploits in the Premier League.
During the 27-year-old’s time with Liverpool, former manager Jurgen Klopp said: “He has been a fantastic player from the first day. An outstanding talent and he has turned into a world-class football player.”

The £278k-a-week Real Madrid star hasn’t been quite as successful since making the move to Spain, making just eight La Liga appearances, having struggled with a number of injury issues.
However, Alexander-Arnold proved himself over a number of years in the Premier League, and he could be a fantastic signing for Man City, should he be willing to sign for an English club other than Liverpool.
